Private sessions available in Kilkenny and Dublin; please email for enquiries and bookings.
Private Sessions are given by an experienced therapist with an M.A. in Expressive Arts Therapy from the European Graduate School in Switzerland.
What to expect:
The core of the practice
Expressive Arts Therapy focuses on the process, using art as a means for empowerment, healing, and an agent of change.
Expressive Arts embodies the humanistic perspective that each person has the potential for making positive change in their life.
Art gives this process of change physicality; a means to witness and gain perspective. More than merely a reflection, when one creates, one is in dialogue with the medium/material, and so in EXA, the participant is not just retelling an experience, they are enabling a new notion to be born. This process is guided by a therapist to provide a safe and supported frame.
The sessions are an hour long. Within the session we follow an arc, starting with a conversation, moving into the art making process and closing with reflection.
All art materials are included
It is encouraged to keep a journal
The sessions are tailored to the needs of the participant
